Single Car Crash Sends Two People To Hospital

Speeding determined to be a factor in the crash.

 

Two people were sent to the hospital for minor injuries after a car crash on Route 117, which caused Ledyard Police to close the road for a short period of time Monday night.

Winter Riffle, 16, was driving a 1993 Ford Escort and Tammy Avery, 23, was a passenger when the car they were travelling in rolled over and struck a utility pole on Route 117.

Ledyard Police say that Riffle has been cited for driving too fast for conditions.

The Ledyard Police Department, Ledyard Fire Department, Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad, and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital Paramedic responded to the emergency.
