Steady Increase in Connecticut Gas Prices Beginning to Slow

Regularly increasing gas prices in Connecticut and the country eased up on their climb last week, as the price per gallon in the state rose only 1.1 cents to an average of $3.96 per gallon.
But the good news only goes so far. GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan cautions drivers that prices probably won't be dropping anytime soon.

"GasBuddy data showed the national average rising for 32 consecutive days, starting January 20 at $3.265/gal, and ending February 21 at $3.733/gal. The tide has now turned, and the national average has dropped two days straight," DeHaan said. "This is certainly excellent news for disillusioned motorists, but I would caution them not to get overly thrilled as prices may linger near these levels for some time," he added.
According to GasBuddy.com, the average price of gas in Connecticut was 4.2 cents lower one year ago and is now nearly 30 cents higher since last month.

Nationally, the average gas price rose to $3.72. The average was 42 cents lower one month ago, according to GasBuddy.com
