This Week: Portion of Avery Hill Road Closed for Drainage Work
Avery Hill Road from Route 214 to Bittersweet Drive will be closed to through traffic during normal working hours for the week of June 3rd.
An update on the Avery Hill Road drainage project, from the Ledyard News Facebook page:
"Major drainage work will be conducted on Avery Hill Road throughout June. Avery Hill Road will be subject to complete closure at times between major intersections which contain the workzone; at a minimum motorists should expect one-lane traffic and associated delays.
"Avery Hill Road from Route 214 to Bittersweet Drive will be closed to through traffic during normal working hours for the week of June 3rd.
"This notice is provided that motorists, and especially local residents, may plan for these travel restrictions. Residents living within the workzone will still have access to and from their homes. Access will also be maintained for school bus and emergency vehicle traffic, unless complete closure is unavoidable. Where this will not be the case, adequate notice will be given to the appropriate parties.
"We appreciate your understanding and patience as we complete this important project."
