Town Taxes Due August 1st
If you haven't already done so, your town tax bills are due on Wednesday, Aug. 1.

But, if you haven't already done so, time is running out to pay your Ledyard motor vehicle tax bill and the first installment for all real estate and personal property taxes. Taxes are due to be in the mail or paid in person to the Town of Ledyard Tax Collection, 741 Colonel Ledyard Highway on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012.
Vehicles registered after Oct. 1, 2011 will be billed in January 2013, and do not appear on the July 2012 tax bill.

Late payments will result in an interest charge of 1.5 percent per month from the July 1, 2012 due date. The minimum interest charge is $2. The town encourages residents who are paying late to call the Tax Collector's Office at 860-464-3233 to find out the correct amount due.

There will be no mailing for the second installment of the real estate and personal property tax bills. Both payment coupons were included in the bill mailed in June.
People with questions about billings, tax balances due, amounts paid, delinquent taxes, and interest charged should call 860-464-3232, or 860-464-3233. If you have questions regarding assessed value, adjustments, exemptions or credits, tax relief programs, and improper motor vehicle tax billings, you should call the Assessor’s Office at 860-464-3239.
Residents can pay their taxes online or at the Tax Collector's Office Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00. Dime Bank will also accept the current year's tax payments.
