Two Burglaries And One Attempt Friday Morning
Two liquor stores and one private residence were hit this morning.

Ledyard police are reporting the following:
Commercial Burglary
At approximately 3:23 p.m. the received a security alarm from at 756 Colonel Ledyard Highway and upon arrival, officers found that entry had been made into the building, according to a press release.
Harry Patel, the store's manager, said that the glass window in the front door had been shattered and that the back door was also left open.
Patel said that he was mainly missing cases of red wine, rum, Johnny Walker Red Label Whiskey, Hennessey, and Marlboro and Newport cigarettes, totaling $1,500 to $1,600 dollars. He said a hand cart was also taken but the cash drawer appeared to be untouched.
At 3:16 a.m. the Ledyard Police Department received a security alarm from , a package store located at 126 Gallup Hill Road. Responding officers found that an attempt to enter the establishment had occurred but had been unsuccessful, said the release.
Residential Burglary
At 10:53 a.m. the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a residential burglary having occurred on Avery Hill Road.
The release said that "responding officers found that during the morning an unknown person(s) had forced entry into the home taking items from inside."
