VIDEO: Ledyard Police Investigate Spree Of Burglaries

Residential and commercial burglaries have Ledyard Police Department on high alert.

 

Lt. Michael Finkelstein says that the is seeing a slight increase in burglaries since late last year and that the nine commercial and residentail break-ins since November represent a slight peak, which other towns are also experiencing.

Finkelstein said burglars are taking, "mostly items that can be pawned," like computers, jewelery and electronics. But, in the two burglaries on Vinegar Hill Road, tools were stolen from sheds.

Finkelstein said there have been three arrests in connection with the recent slew of burglaries but most are still under investigation, including one on Fawn Drive, one on Avery Hill Road, one on Shewville Road, two on Route 12 and another two on Vinegar Hill Road.
