Who's Here: A Man From Groton On A Three-Wheeled Motorcycle

Frank Gilliland, of Groton, drove through Ledyard on his three-wheeled scooter made by Piaggio. Gilliland bought the scooter two years ago and he said he needed a motorcycle license to drive it. Gilliland pulled over to show off his wheels to Ledyard firefighters who were curious to know if the two wheels made the bike safer than a two-wheeled motorcycle. Gilliland said he thought so and proceeded to demonstrate how they pivot when he makes turns. 

"It took a while to get used to it," he said of the  two-wheels in front.
