MADISON, CT – The 14th Annual Touch A Truck event returns to Madison with an added feature.

On April 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., children can see and experience larger-than-life vehicles.

During the event, put on by the Madison Newcomers Club, children can see how a cherry-picker works, hear the fire truck's horn, and see what the inside of a city bus looks like.

Because last year's event was successful and well-attended, Madison Newcomers Club said this year they had added a free shuttle bus for parking convenience that will run through the event. The shuttle will pick up and drop off passengers at the Madison Commuter Lot, off Exit 61/RT 79, and run continuously from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The shuttle is highly recommended, as parking is limited at the Surf Club.

Madison Newcomers Club said their board has been working incredibly hard to bring an event this year the community will love, with lots of trucks and cool vehicles, a large assortment of food vendors, and extra special activities provided by local preschools and performers, including family favorite musical group Sunny Train and youth dance performers from Limelite Dance Studio.

Madison Newcomers Club said the generous support from the Touch A Truck sponsors will help benefit the Newcomers Scholarship, awarded to applicants graduating from Daniel Hand High School. Contributions can be made to the scholarship during the Touch A Truck event.
