Wind & Flood Advisories Issued For Madison
Wind gusts could reach 60 mph during the storm, according to forecasts.
MADISON, CT — Strong winds and possible coastal flooding are forecast for Madison and much of the state Thursday night through Friday night, prompting town officials to warn of wind and flood advisories.
"Peak southerly winds are expected to occur between 6:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Friday (12/19), with gusts of approximately 60 MPH expected; please note that wind gusts could exceed this forecast if any thunderstorms develop along the cold front Friday morning," Madison officials wrote on Facebook. "A second period of strong Northwest winds is expected Friday evening. Power outages are possible."

The town also offered the following tips:
- Secure any items that may be effected by strong wind
- Always treat downed wires as if they are live and dangerous– do not approach or touch them
- In the event of power outages, be sure to run generators outdoors and away from windows and doors
- Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth
