MADISON, CT — Nonprofit groups are keystone community organizations in the Madison area. Fortunately, there is no shortage of organizations to volunteer or get behind financially, and that need your help.
Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the Madison area:
- The Madison Foundation: The mission of The Madison Foundation is to connect donors to the causes they care about most to make Madison a better place to live today and in the future. They provide grants to organizations that serve the community’s social, cultural, environmental, education and recreation needs.
- Madison ABC: The purpose of Madison ABC is to educate, prepare and support talented young men of color for college and to be successful leaders in society. They do this by providing a challenging and nurturing high school experience and cultivating their scholars' interests and talents in and out of the classroom.
- Friends of Hammonasset: Friends of Hammonasset is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization, working in cooperation with State and local park management and Friends of Connecticut State Park to provide environmental education, preserve the integrity of Hammonasset Beach State Park’s natural resources and serve as an advocate for the Park.
- Community Service of Madison: Community Service of Madison is an all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization providing services and assistance to Madison residents since 1930. 100 percent of their funding is from private donations. Services they provide include the food pantry, holiday food baskets, summer lunch program, youth programs, and crisis Assistance.
- Infinite Strength: The mission of Infinite Strength is to provide assistance and emotional support to underserved single mothers living with Metastatic Breast Cancer in order to help them have a better quality of life and to provide hope to both mother and child that they do not have to go on the journey alone.
