Construction Begins On Garvan Point Reconstruction Project In Madison

MADISON, CT — Construction has begun on the Garvan Point reconstruction project in Madison, according to officials.

The project, which calls for the rebuilding of the seawall, is designed to help prevent beach and facilities erosion from waves and storms.

"During construction, please keep in mind the security fencing and do not enter the point area," officials wrote on the town's website. "As the project moves along, we will continue to update you on how the project is progressing."

The state is funding $770,000 of the project, which will help fortify the point against climate change.
