Controversial Madison Farm Plan Gets Approval Despite Public Outcry
Residents are concerned over noise and traffic problems that could come as consequence to the passage of the permit.

Madison Planning and Zoning Commission approved a special exception permit that would allow “non-agriculturally related uses” on Field House Farms and a two-guestroom Farmstay, located at 605 Green Hill Rd., at Thursday night’s public hearing, according to the New Haven Register.
Public resistance prompted the commission to cautiously accept the application under deemed special circumstances, the Register reported.
The “non-agriculturally related uses” include weddings, banquets or expanded farm dinners, children-themed parties, monthly yoga sessions and a two-guestroom bed-and-breakfast operation, which will all take place by the end of the year, according to the Register.
