Why are you seeking this office?
At this time in my life I have the opportunity to share my many years of experience in business and working with people to make my district and the state of Connecticut a better, more affordable and safer place to live.
What do you believe is the No. 1 issue facing Connecticut, and how do you plan to address it?
Affordability. Taxation is a crucial issue that effects us all and I am committed to addressing it with a practical approach by: eliminating ineffective taxes, assessing the effectiveness of state programs, supporting small businesses and removing social security taxes. I would also work to deranged the unfair public benefit tax on our electric bills.
There have been an alarming number of deaths on Connecticut's roadways. Is there anything from a legislative standpoint that can be done to address that?
Yes, the targeted 236 on-ramps deemed unsafe all need to be addressed as soon as possible. The work has started. What is the hold up? This is a bi-partisan issue and I would work for the immediate completion of all unsafe on-ramps by helping to secure funding, labor, engineering and law enforcement costs associated.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My opponent has served as State Representative for two terms. Although I have lobbied and worked on legislative bills concerning the illicit fentanyl crisis in Hartford, I have not held an office. Yet.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
As a restaurant owner who also runs a nationally recognized nonprofit, my extensive experience with “getting the job done” has enabled me to realize a success with both. My restaurant has given me the experience of payroll, unfair taxation, supply highs and lows and of course the tenacity to make it through COVID. Through the nonprofit, demandZERO we have become community partners with the Madison Police Department, New Haven Police Department, New England DEA, FBI and New England High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, all because of our mission to provided resources for Law Enforcement to combat drug trafficking in Connecticut and the U.S.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
My voting and creating legislation with my colleagues would be based on what the citizens of the 101st are most concerned with, all citizens. I very much look forward to serving a community which my family and I are lucky to call home for 30 years now.
