Dates Set For Annual Madison Salutes Our Heroes Flag Display

MADISON, CT — The annual Madison Salutes Our Heroes display of 300 flags, hosted by the Madison Exchange Club, is scheduled for Aug. 30 through Sept. 13 on the Madison Town Green, according to organizers.

"In addition to honoring veterans, current military personnel, first responders, canines and those who died on 9/11, Madison Salutes Our Heroes offers an opportunity to purchase a flag for our everyday heroes – a teacher who changed a life or a friend who offered support when it was needed most – people and organizations that brought light and hope into our lives," said First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons in a statement.

The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for at 5 p.m. on the 30th, and at 5 p.m. on Sept. 11 is the 9/11 Ceremony.

Flags are available for purchase and dedication to a hero for $40 with canine flags available for $60.
