Deacon Grave House To Host Outside Productions in Madison

Madison Lyric Stage is planning two multi-time performances - one in July and one in October at the site in downtown Madison.

MADISON, CT - The Madison Lyric Stage is planning to hold two outside productions - one in July and one in October - at the Deacon John Grave House.

The plans were discussed at the most recent Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.

Marc Deaton, artistic director of the Madison Lyric Stage, said it has not been easy for the organization to find a situation that work for both the stage company and the audience.

He said there will be two productions, one in July with 10 performances, and a second one in October, with six performances.

Deaton said both will be outside, about 10 feet from the barn.

A concern about parking has been raised, and both the St. Margaret's Church and Guilford Savings Bank are expected to make arrangements to allow guests to park on their sites, Deaton said.

Classical music will be featured, he said. He added that a tent will be installed five days before each production's first performance and removed the day after the last performance.
