Decorated Paralympian Rower From Madison Wins Silver Medal: Report

MADISON, CT — Madison native Ben Washburne rowed in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris earlier this month, and brought home a Silver Medal, the Shoreline Times reported.

Washburne, who reportedly was born with a severe club foot, competed in the PR3 Mixed Coxed Four finals, and his scull finished with a time of 6:58:59, about 3 seconds behind winner Great Britain.

He began rowing just before starting seventh grade, following in his father's footsteps, who was a rower at Williams College.
