'Disturbing Flyers' Placed On Residents' Property: Madison Police

Both local Democrats and Republican leaders shared a joint statement asking all members of the town to denounce the group.

MADISON, CT — The Madison Police Department said it is monitoring a situation regarding flyers placed on residents’ property from an alleged neo-Nazi organization.

Madison Police Department received numerous complaints through the weekend of Oct. 7 by concerned residents regarding the discovery of flyers on their properties, spokesperson for the police department Lt. Jeremy Yorke said.

“While the flyers distributed are disturbing, they have been deemed to be non-criminal,” Yorke said. “The Madison Police Department has been diligently monitoring the situation. We urge residents to maintain vigilance and promptly notify the Madison Police Department if they observe any suspicious activity.”

Via a Facebook post, Madison CT Democrats and Madison CT Republican Chairs shared a joint statement asking all members of the town to denounce the group.

Yorke said the flyers were carefully packaged in plastic bags with rocks and were found in various residential locations across Madison.

“It is important to note that these incidents were not isolated, affecting multiple individuals within the community, Yorke said. “The safety and security of our community remains our utmost priority.”

Yorke said they would appreciate the cooperation and assistance of all residents in reporting any unusual occurrences.

“Contact the Madison Police Department immediately if you witness any concerning behavior,” Yorke said.
