MADISON, CT — A new EV Charger is coming to Madison’s Charles Woosley Scranton Parking Area.

Madison’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved the Electric Vehicle charger project at Samson Rock Road during their meeting on June 15.

Project Manager Felicia Smith Gulick told commission members the application was for an electric vehicle juice bar charging port installation, which is a different provider than what is currently behind the post office area.

The town proposed to install two EV charger systems in existing parking spaces, which Titan Energy will complete.

Gulick said one of the EV chargers will be designed for ADA accessibility, and as a result, one existing parking space will be eliminated to accommodate necessary pavement and markings.

During the meeting, Commissioner Charles Walz said he was against the proposal because parking spaces are needed in the area.
