First Condo Sold At Historic "Black House" Site in Madison

Black House on Boston Post Road has been converted into 3 luxury condos by developer William Plunkett; a unit has recently been sold

(Jack Kramer)

MADISON, CT - One of three luxury condo units in the historic Dowd House, built in 1813 and located in the heart of downtown Madison, restored by William Plunkett, has been sold for $619,000.

When Plunkett bought the house back in 2014, speculation early on was that it might be turned into a restaurant, as Plunkett is the owner of the popular restaurant Moxie on nearby Wall Street.

Instead he marketed as a three-unit, luxury condo.
