Fraternity Helps Establish Scholarship In Memory Of Nicholas Donofrio

MADISON, CT – Phi Kappa Sigma has started a GoFundMe to establish scholarships at the University of South Carolina and Daniel Hand High School in memory of Nicholas Anthony Donofrio.

Donofrio, 20, from Connecticut, attending college in South Carolina, was shot and killed over the weekend in Colombia after he was apparently mistaken for a burglar, according to police.

Phi Kappa Sigma wrote on the GoFundMe that Donofrio followed in his big brother's footsteps and joined the fraternity in the Fall of 2022.

“Nick was fun, charismatic, energetic and a true gentleman of honor,” Phi Kappa Sigma wrote. “While his time with us was short, he made a significant difference in the lives of all of us and everyone he knew.”

The Nicholas Anthony Donofrio GoFundMe has a goal of $100,000.

“The broths of Phi Kappa Sigma and his hometown community of Madison, Conn., are joining together to help the Donofrio family with their wish to establish scholarships at both the University of South Carolina and Daniel Hand High School in Nick’s honor,” the fraternity wrote on GoFundMe.
