Housing Forum Scheduled By Madison's Planning & Zoning Commission

The commission will be joined by members of the Affordable Housing Committee, Economic Development Commission and Board of Selectmen.

Information from First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons:

MADISON, CT — Please join the Planning & Zoning Commission as it hosts a Housing Forum on February 20, 2025, at the Madison Senior Center from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Members of the Affordable Housing Committee, Economic Development Commission, Board of Selectmen, and town staff will be joining this public event.

Over the course of our lives, our housing needs change. We graduate from school, start careers, raise families, grow older, retire, and often need assistance. For those who serve our town; who do other important work; who have lived here for years; or who are just starting out, we need to think hard about the homes we have to live in. Do we need more of what we have? Do we need a wider variety of choices? Where should homes be built?

The forum will be an opportunity to share information and hear from Madison residents about general housing needs for everyone. It follows up on housing goals and implementation priorities of the 2022-2027 Affordable Housing Plan, the 2023-2033 Strategic Plan, and the 2024-2034 Plan of Conservation and Development addressing the urgent need to update our zoning regulations to promote housing options for all.
