Julius "Jules" John Budries of Madison: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Julius “Jules” John Budries, 85, of Madison passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025 at Aaron Manor in Chester, Connecticut. He was born July 17th,1940, in Port Chester, NY to the late John and Clara Budries. Jules is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (Marzullo) Budries, and two devoted daughters; Sharon Walsh, husband Richard of Branford and Doreen Stevenson, husband Douglas of East Haddam. Jules is also survived by his grandchildren: Matthew Walsh (Kristi), Cory Walsh (Sarah), Haili Drake (Ronald), Jesse Walsh (fiancé Amber Schaper), Alyx Stevenson (fiancé Alexander Segaline), along with great grandchildren: Parker Walsh, Penn Walsh, Carson Walsh, and Palmer Walsh. Jules is also survived by his brother, John Budries, Jr, (Eleanora) of Port Chester.

There was no greater love than the one shared by Jules and his beloved wife Dorothy, (his honey) always attached at the hip. Jules was the patriarch of his family, devoted to protecting them. His larger than life bear hugs provided comfort and safety to his loving family. He proudly attended his grandchildren's sporting and dance events, cheering them on as their biggest fan. Jules inevitably received the nickname “Buster” as a reflection of his love for playfully joking around with the people he loved. Jules had the innate ability to fill every room with joy due to his infectious laugh and beaming smile. He was the king of assigning silly nicknames to those he loved as a way of showing his affection. Jules was an avid golfer, hunter, and an amazing cook, never needing to follow a recipe. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a successful entrepreneur, having run a painting and paper hanging business along the shoreline for over 50 years.

A private funeral service will be held at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven CT.
