Agent Margaret Muir had the listing. The transaction broke Madison’s prior residential sale record, also handled by Muir. The 2012 sale of 29 Middle Beach Road West, sold for $5,650,000, was previously the highest recorded sale in Madison.

“This estate is one of the most remarkable homes ringing Fence Creek,” Muir said in a news release. “The property is carefully sited in the heart of Madison’s beloved beach area, offering both salt meadow and Long Island Sound views, along with the highest-quality materials and finishes. It is an honor to participate in such a notable sale in Madison history.”

The home was built 12 years ago as a "collaborative project by a team of Connecticut’s most
sought-after industry professionals." They include architect Robert Page and custom builder William Plunkett, along with the London-based, internationally recognized design firm Colefax and Fowler.

The 7,100 square-foot shingle style home offers large spaces for entertaining as well as four
private bedroom suites, an indoor resistance pool, outdoor swimming pool with waterfall and
pool house as well as extensive garden areas and an expansive, manicured lawn. A three-story
1,500 square-foot guest house complete with separate workshop, boat storage and two car-garage
also offers rarely seen architectural details. Adding to the appeal is the home’s location: in
addition to its waterfront charm, the property is just a short walk to restaurants, the town center
and East Wharf Beach.

“This is a luxurious home that lives exactly the way people want to live today,” Muir said. “We
are thrilled to complete this sale and find new owners who will have a chance to enjoy all that
Madison has to offer.”
