Lawsuits Filed Against Madison's Approval Of Tremaine Foundation Plan

Additionally, the foundation has also reportedly filed suit over the conditions of the proposal's approval.

MADISON, CT — A pair of lawsuits have been filed against the Madison Planning and Zoning Commission's recent approval of the Tremaine Foundation's plan to build an educational facility in Madison at a 300-year-old historical property, the Shoreline Times reported.

Additionally, the Tremaine Foundation has also filed its own lawsuit against the Madison P&Z for what the organization claims are overly restrictive conditions of the approval.

Residents who are against the plan, which would see the 6 Opening Hill Road property extensively renovated, are appealing the commission's approval of a special exception permit for the project.

Included among the claims made in the appeals are allegations that traffic from the new facility could negatively impact the residential neighborhood, and that there were conflict of interest and procedural issues with the P&Z approval.
