Live Birds At Church Saturday!

The Friends of Hammonasset presents the annual Bauer Series with host St. Andrew’s Church at 10:00am on the first 3 Saturdays in February at St. Andrew’s Church located at 232 Durham Rd. (Rt. 79) in Madison.

The fourth program on Saturday, Feb 23^rd, at 11am,  is a guided hike beginning at the Meigs Point Nature Center at Hammonasset Beach State Park. This popular educational series is generously sponsored by Guilford Savings Bank.

• Feb. 2nd      Live Bird Show at 10:00am Presented by Todd Secki and Christine Cummings Secki from A Place Called Hope-a bird rescue and rehabilitation facility in Killingworth, CT.
• Feb. 9^th    Live Reptiles and Amphibians show at 10:00am. Presented by Kim Hargrave, Educational Director , Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center.  There will be lots of live animals!
• Feb.16^th     Exotic and Tropical Pets show at 10:00am  Presented by Russ Miller, Director of Meigs Point Nature Center.
• Feb. 23^rd   Geology/Native American Land Use Hike  at 11:00am  from Meigs Point Nature Center  led by Gary Nolf and Don Rankin, representing Friends of the Office of State Archaeology.  Geological features of the Park will be discussed. Archaeology exhibits will be available and folks can bring their own artifacts for interpretation.  The atlatl will be demonstrated. Folks participate at their own risk and should dress for wintry conditions.

These informative and entertaining programs are suitable for folks of all ages. Light refreshments will be available following all presentations.  No pets allowed on the hike.
