Madison 1st Selectman: "Working On Bugs With Beach Parking Plan"
Banisch: We have gotten vendor involved over the weekend to monitor situation and determine what they can do to help streamline system."

MADISON, CT - Madison First Selectman Tom Banisch Monday morning issued a new update on how the new beach parking system worked over the weekend.
Here is what he had to say:
"We rolled out the new parking system registration on Friday (actually Thursday night) and as with any new system, there have been some bumps along the way. On Friday, Beach & Rec personnel helped residents with the different scenarios that presented and will continue to do so.

"We have gotten our vendor involved over the weekend to monitor the situation and determine what they can do to help streamline the system. The not-so-good news is that we are seeing some things that need to be de-bugged. The good news is that as of 2:00 pm on Saturday, over 600 permits had been successfully processed.
"In order to keep things moving while we finish getting the system in place, we will be honoring all prior season pass holders AND current season Hang Tags issued this year until next Friday, 6/28/19. This will give you continued beach access and us time to tweak our on-line system.
Staff is checking voicemails and are willing to assist with all weekend requests to the best of their ability, and they're doing a great job. They are here to help and assist .

"The beach office at the Surf Club is working out well and handling customers requests. If you have a problem or a question, ask at the office or get direction from the gate guard.
"The biggest issue so far for residents in the on-line registration is finding their account on Rectrac. Once found, you have to add 0s to the front of the number so there are 9 digits. If your Account number is 1234, you need to add 00000 to the front of it to make it 000001234..
"Don't ask me why, and we'll see if that can be changed.
The majority of people using the registration on-line are maneuvering through the process."
