“The Madison Beach Hotel commemorates five years of providing exceptional experiences for our guests,” said Mathers, “We’re excited to introduce a summer of special programs for our guests highlighting our hotel’s distinct culture, from wellness, to celebrations to community events.”
Since reopening five years ago the Madison Beach Hotel has been dedicated to serve and support its local community through numerous philanthropic efforts and has made ongoing contributions to local nonprofit and civic organizations including but not limited to the Madison Ambulance Association, Madison Food Pantry, Madison Chamber of Commerce, Madison Little League and Dog Days Adoption Events, Inc., to name a few.
“Last year, the property launched the Wharf Preservation Alliance which mission is to preserve the historicity of The Wharf and to celebrate its future,” said Mathers. “Every week, we asked our patrons to make a donation to the “West Wharf Sand Pail”, which was passed out at every concert. As a result $3,500 were collected during the concerts and Madison Beach Hotel’s owners, Ric and Dawn Duques matched dollar for dollar all contributions made to the West Wharf Sand Pail. In October, last fall, we presented a $7,000 check to the Madison Ambulance Association,” said Mathers.
For Earth Day, the hotel partnered with the Boys Scouts of Madison. “We invited the Boy Scouts to come and help us clean the beach and the dunes in anticipation of the summer,” said Mathers. “After the work was done, we hosted a hot dog cook-out on the beach to thank them for their efforts,” he added. “We are so blessed to be part of a community where civic responsibility and family values are a strong part of our culture. This Earth Day initiative was one way we chose to celebrate our committed and generous community,” continued Mathers.
In June of 2015, The Madison Beach Hotel was selected to join Curio – A Collection by Hilton (curiocollection.com). Curio is a global collection of distinct hotels characterized by independent style and made up of four and five diamond hotels.
“We were honored to have been selected to join Curio’s work of highly distinctive properties,” said Lou Carrier, President of Distinctive Hospitality Group. “While Madison Beach Hotel joined Curio, the hotel preserved its unique identity. The Curio portfolio recognition provides an exciting new opportunity for us to help leverage our scale, scope and expertise while keeping intact our hotel’s individual character and local community roots.”
Added Mathers, “To be joining such a prestigious collection of world-class hotels says so much about our team, the beauty of the Connecticut shoreline, and the commitment of our hotel’s owners. We are very proud.”
"In the past five years since welcoming our very first guests in our newly reconstructed hotel, the Madison Beach Hotel has made its mark on Madison, becoming a leader in luxury lodging and a compassionate member of our community," said Mathers. "We have become a destination not only for visitors, but for local residents who are seeking the very best in spa services, elegant events, casual and refined dining and the best cocktails on the shoreline.”
