Madison Board of Selectmen Approves Ordinance to Create Town Fields Advisory Committee

The committee will allow for better player safety, field maintenance and long-term plans for town-owned fields.

A vote on Tuesday by the Board of Selectmen approved an ordinance that allows a Town Fields Advisory Committee to be created, according to the New Haven Register. The Beach and Recreation Commission felt this decision was overdue.

The ordinance allows a committee of presidents from the Madison sports leagues to act under the supervision of Scott Erskine, the director of recreation, with the hopes of promoting player safety, field maintenance and long-term plans for town-owned fields, the Register reported.

No one is currently appointed to the committee, and no start date for the committee has been announced at this time, according to the Register.
