Madison and Clinton Team Up To Run Joint Citizen Police Academy

In an effort to pool resources the neighboring towns of Madison and Clinton teamed together to run a joint citizen police academy.

MADISON, CT - Madison’s Police Chief Jack Drumm often talks about the collaborative efforts that are underway with neighboring town police departments. He says in these days of tighter budgets and resources police departments are looking wherever they can to team together.

And example of that is that the town of Madison and Clinton recently graduated their first “Joint Senior Police Academy.”

The Madison Police Department said this about the academy on its Facebook page:

“The Clinton and Madison Police Departments graduated 30 residents of the two towns from their first "Joint Senior Police Academy.”

“It was a wonderful exchange between the members of each police department and the residents that they serve. The six-week academy met each Wednesday from April 4th through May 9th. Residents learned the many different operational and administrative aspects of a modern police agency.

“More importantly, they received first hand access to their men and women in blue, building lasting relationships. The program will run again in 2019.‘’
