Madison Conducting Property Revaluation Later This Year

The reassessment will happen later this year. Contractors will visit homes throughout town. Here is what to know about the process.

MADISON, CT — Madison will conduct its regular property revaluation this year, with an effective date of Oct. 1. Revaluation is required by state law.

Madison has contracted with Vision Government Solutions Inc. for the revaluation.

Data collectors from VGS will be out in the community to verify exterior measures and conduct interior property inspection for assessment purposes. They will wear identification badges and possess written documentation. Homeowners are encouraged to ask for identification prior to admitting anyone onto or into their premises.

Revaluations must occur every five years according to state law. Assessment amounts are based on the estimated fair market value of a home as of Oct. 1.
