MADISON, CT - Ex Board of Selectmen member Bruce Wilson may soon be returning to the board as the Madison Republican Town Committee has endorsed him to take the spot on the board vacated by former First Selectman Tom Banisch.

Banisch, who still held a position on the board despite losing his re-election bid last November, resigned his position on the board last week to take a position in Hartford.

On Wednesday the selectmen are expected to act on the Republicans’ recommendation to have Wilson replace Banisch on the selectmen board.

Wilson is no stranger to Madison politics. Not only has he served as a town selectman for two terms before losing a re-election bid this past November, but he has also twice run for the 12th Senate District seat that counts Madison among its representative towns.

Both times he lost to Democratic Ted Kennedy, Jr. The seat is now held by Democrat Christine Cohen.
