Madison Police Log Respond to Rash of Motor Vehicle Theft Calls
Madison police list the most recent calls made during the most recent activity period.

MADISON, CT - The good news is that there were no arrests made by Madison during the most recent activity report period.
The bad news is that cops were kept very busy with a string of calls involving either thefts from autos or auto thefts.
On September 23rd, police responded to a motor vehicle theft on Randi Drive and a theft from an auto on that same street. That same day the cops were called to a report from a theft from an auto on Green Hill Road - and an actual auto theft also on Green Hill Road.

Also on September 23rd there was another motor vehicle theft on Matthew Court and - again on that same day - a theft from auto on Kelsey Springs Drive.
Many of the towns in the Greater New Haven area have reported an increase in thefts from auto - and auto theft - this year. Police chiefs have blamed the lesser penalties that those convicted of the crime are receiving as a prime reason for the spike in the incidents.

Police again state the best defense against auto theft, or breaking into cars is simple: lock your vehicle and keep possessions away from visible locations.
