Madison Weighing Costs Of School Proposals
Officials are reviewing possibilities of school changes, closures, costs.

MADISON--Cost estimates of possible school district changes was the hot topic of the last round of the Board of Education's community forums last week.
On March 30, about 50 residents turned out for the public discussion, Zip06 reports.
The Madison BOE is reviewing various plans and costs. The most expensive proposal would be a six-school plan with a $97-$107 million price tag; the five school plan with a price tag of $85 to $94 million, and the four-school plan with a price of $81 to $90 million, according to Zip06.

Madison officials are examining its facilities and what to do with them because student enrollment has been declining for more than five years, and several existing schools including all three elementary schools need significant renovations.
