Madison's 2023 Budget Referendum Results Released
About 8.9 percent of the town's registered voters turned out to vote for the budget referendum.
MADISON, CT — Madison’s proposed $94.3 million budget passed by 663 votes according to the referendum results on Tuesday, May 16, representing a $3 million increase from last year.
The $94.3 million budget encompasses the town’s operating and Madison's 2023-24 public schools budgets.
On the town’s side, the approved 2023-24 fiscal year operating budget is $32.5 million, an increase of $1.4 million over last year’s $31.1 million spending plan.

The approved 2023-24 education budget for Madison Public Schools is $61.7 million, an increase of $1.5 million over the 2022-23 education budget.

The final vote to approve the town’s budget was 753 yes votes and 435 no votes. The total votes on the education budget were 768 yes and 423 no votes.
