Madison's Annual Read Aloud Program Volunteer Registrations Open
The 25th Annual Read Aloud Program needs over 40 community volunteers to read at two Madison Elementary Schools.
MADISON, CT – Madison’s 25th Annual Read Aloud Program seeks over 40 community volunteers to demonstrate the importance of reading to Madison elementary school students.
The Annual Read Aloud Program will occur on Wednesday, May 24, at 9 a.m. at Ryerson School and Wednesday, May 31, at 9 a.m. at Jeffrey School.
Madison Chamber of Commerce said when the readers drive to the school on their designated day, they will be provided with a brief Read Aloud orientation and a beautiful new storybook to be given to the classroom.

The deadline to register to be a volunteer is May 11.
The Chamber said even though they can’t promise specific placement requests by volunteers; for instance, if volunteers would like to read to their own child’s or grandchild’s class, they will make an effort to honor the requests on a first-come, first-serve basis.

After registering, the Chamber said volunteers will receive an email about the class assignment and book they’ll read.
