Madison's Green Up, Clean UP Day Scheduled For Last Saturday in April

In the past, groups participating in the Green UP, Clean UP Day have collected up to 4 tons of litter.

MADISON, CT – Green Up, Clean Up Day returns to Madison on Saturday, April 29.

The annual event to help resolve the problem of roadside litter runs from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In previous years, more than 400 Madison residents and diverse civic groups have gathered and collected up to 4 tons of litter in 4 hours.

There are several ways to help. One way is to talk to the organizations you are associated with and plan to work together for a great cause. Keep an eye out for places needing a clean-up, and get a group of neighbors together to pick up debris in your neighborhood.

On the event day, groups should check in at Memorial Town Hall at 8 Meetinghouse Lane or Roberts Center in the North Madison Shopping Center.

Supplies such as bags, gloves and safety vests for children can be picked up at the two meeting locations. Bring the litter to the Memorial Town Hall or Robert’s Food Center dumpsters when finished.
