Nationally Ranked VIBE, American Idol's Erin Christine To Star In Madison Concert!

Editor's Note: VIBE is once again having a stellar year, with many awards won and the singing group from Daniel Hand High School is now ranked 18th in the country. The group has an exciting event coming up, with another local favorite who has acheived national fame. This information provided by proud parents of VIBE members: 

VIBE competed at the Nutmeg Show Choir Festival on Saturday March 9th.
They were awarded trophy's for being Grand Champion, Best Chorale Sound and Best Male Soloist,, Matt Speed. The group is now ranked 18th in the country according to the website National Show Choir Rankings.

VIBE has scheduled a concert for Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 6 p.m. at Daniel Hand High School Dining and Assembly Hall with American Idol and DHHS graduate Erin Christine Prestileo and the UConn Chordials! For more information contact Vibe.Events@comcast.net

Daniel Hand High School's nationally ranked competitive show choir also competed  in the New England Show Choir Classic on March 2, 2013 in Somerset, MA and was selected by a panel of judges as First Runner Up by less than 12 out of 600 points. The group also was honored  as having the Best Vocal Sound and the Pit Band was chosen as Number 1 by the judges. Eileen Creaser was chosen as Best Female Vocalist and Matt Speed the Best Male Vocalist among the 15 groups in the competitions.

The group, led by Ron Soja consists of 44 multi-talented performers, who tell the Snow White Fairy Tale with a contemporary arrangement of songs and dancing.  VIBE's Show Choir Band, directed by student Emily Viloudaki with over 10 members, are responsible for orchestrating and arranging all the instrumentation to support the show.  The Choir and Band are supported by four members of the Stage Crew, who manage the stage sets and set up. 

VIBE travels all over New England competing in events.  Last year the group traveled to  both NYC and Chicago to compete in the Show Choir National Championships.  The group placed 13^th in the National Competition.
