New Cap Set For Madison Senior Tax Relief Program

Finance Board establishes maximum tax relief rate; those who qualify will see their current tax rates remain the same for the current year.

MADISON, CT - This year's Madison senior tax freeze and property tax relief program will be funded at $830,672 - which is 1 percent of the total 2018-2019 town and education budget.

That amount was approved at the January meeting of the Board of Finance.

The program was initiated three years years in an effort to help seniors on a fixed income remain in her homes in Madison.

To qualify for the freeze, seniors must meet certain age, income, property valuation limits, and residency eligibility requirements.

Qualifying seniors can apply for the freeze starting Feb. 1, 2019 through May 15, 2019.
