Obituary: Andrew Jay Goldhamer, 69, of Madison
A Vermont late-night, classic rock radio DJ, ski instructor and drummer, the Madison resident loved animals of all kinds, especially dogs.
Andrew Jay Goldhamer, 69 years old passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. A lifelong resident of Madison, CT, some of his happiest years were spent in Killington, VT, where he thrived as a late-night, classic rock radio disc jockey, as a ski instructor at Killington Mountain and as a drummer with the local band, “A Beautiful Thing”. He loved his network of friends, built in Madison and through his skiing and music communities in Vermont. He remained in touch and was supported by many friends over the years, enjoying the opportunities to reminisce and recall their adventures. He was kind to those around him and known for his humor and good spirit.
Throughout Andy’s life, he loved animals of all kinds, and always had a dog as his companion. His dogs were a constant source of pride, love, and comfort. He took great pleasure in his hours at the dog park with caring friends and would often share stories and pictures of his animals at play. In his most recent home, Andy spent hours tending to his garden, proudly improving the greenspace that he enjoyed with his surrounding neighbors.
