Offensive Explosion By Daniel Hand Lifts Tigers To Football Title

The Tigers won their first state football title since 2018 with a 57-20 victory over Rockville Saturday.

NEW BRITAIN, CT — Aidan Dolan ran for four touchdowns and passed for a fifth, accumulating 268 yards on the ground as Daniel Hand won the Class M football championship by a 57-20 count over Rockville Saturday at Arute Field at Central Connecticut State University.

Dolan had scoring jaunts of 66, 40, 7 and 10 yards, and in the fourth quarter, tossed a 43-yard scoring pass to Owen Preskar. As a team, the Tigers piled up 303 yards rushing on 37 attempts.

Tyler Narracci and Quinton O'Dea caught touchdown passes from Jack Shay in the second quarter. After intermission, Paul Calandrelli romped 13 yards to the end zone, and John Healy kicked a 28-yard field goal. Healy also converted six extra-point kicks in the victory.

For Rockville, Carson Morgan caught a touchdown pass from Brady Ramsdell just before halftime. The pair connected again for a 32-yard scoring pass in the third quarter, and Amir Knightonran in from 13 yards out with just over two minutes remaining. Molly Wilson kicked two extra points for the Rams.
