Powder Substance Found at Madison Senior Center Was Cocaine

A packet of white powder in the parking lot of the Madison Senior Center on Monday tested positive for cocaine.

MADISON, CT - The packet of white power found Monday at the senior center tested positive for cocaine, police said.

The substance was found in the parking lot of the senior center and police are immediately called to the scene.

Nobody was hurt in the incident and police are investigating how the substance wound up in the parking lot.

Town officials said earlier today a white powder was found in the Senior Center parking lot and brought into the Senior Center. Complying with safety procedures, Senior Center Staff immediately contacted the appropriate emergency personnel.

The building was evacuated until Emergency Personnel gave the all clear. The Senior Center is now open for business and all programs and meetings are on as scheduled.
