Smallpox Cemetery Guided Hike

Saturday March 23 9:00am - 11:00am

Presenters Joel Helander, Guilford Town Historian, and Lyle Cubberly, French and Indian War historian. Learn about the epidemic of smallpox in the 18th century and our town heroes during the French and Indian War on a hike to the historic pock lot, under the protection of the Madison Historical Society. The program ends with an exterior visit to the c1765 town pest house, now privately owned.

You must check in at the I-95 Exit 59 Commuter Lot on Goose Lane to participate.

Please arrive before 9:00am. We depart, in individual participants' cars, promptly at 9:00am.

$5 per person; free for MHS members and children under 12

Please bring sturdy weather-appropriate shoes, bug spray, walking stick (if needed).
