Deadline To Join New Elementary School Naming Committee Is Wednesday
The committee will recommend to the Madison Board of Education a minimum of three to a maximum of five possible names.
MADISON, CT – As the New Elementary School project progresses, the Board of Education is seeking out interested community members, parents and staff to be part of the naming committee.
Those interested in being part of the New Elementary School Naming Committee should email Zoo Roos at roos.zoe@madisonps.org no later than Wednesday, Sept. 13.
Members will be appointed Sept. 19.

The naming committee consists of the chair of the Board of Education (ex officio), superintendent (ex officio), one Board of Education member, one building principal, two faculty members, two parents or guardians and one community member. For a total of seven voting members.
According to background information provided by school staff, the committee will recommend to the Board of Education a minimum of three to a maximum of five possible names for the new PreK-5 Elementary School.

The committee will evaluate the suggestions from the public and those of the committee members.
Those on the naming committee will make their recommendations to the Board of Education by Feb. 1, 2024.
