MADISON, CT —When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Liz Koobatian, who nominated her brother Nick Koobatian.

Hometown: Madison

Hero's job: Teen volunteer teaching senior citizens how to use technology

Relationship to nominee: I am his sister.

Reason for recognition: Nick created a website www.tech-savvy-seniors.org offering step-by-step instructions about how to use today's tech for seniors. Concerned about social isolation facing seniors caused by the quarantine, he also created series of live webinars + tutorials.

One thing to know: Nick has spent time every day this summer working on this rather than seeing friends, etc. It is very important to him. Our grandfather is 89, legally blind and has been homebound since March. I think he really inspires Nick.
