Thursday in Madison: Library Open Late This Thursday And Every Thursday! Score Workshop, Yoga And More

Great news! Scranton Memorial Library is now open later on Thursday, every Thursday.

Here's the announcement from the library: 

"The Scranton Library is happy to announce we will be open until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings beginning September 19th.  The Library currently closes at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays. The new hours will be in effect year-round and will increase the Library’s operating hours during the school year from 64 to 67.5 hours per week.  

Library Director Beth Crowley said “Extending our hours will allow students and people who work more time during the week to come in and use the Library.  It will also allow us to accommodate additional programs and meetings that can now be booked on Thursday evenings.”  The operating budget will not be impacted by the increase in service hours. Crowley explained that the coverage for the expanded hours was accomplished by making minor adjustments to current staff schedules and did not require hiring additional staff or increasing staff hours."
