Two Cops Will Patrol Madison Schools Starting This Year
The Board of Selectmen has approved a special appropriation of $85,000 to help cover the cost of patrolling Madison schools this fall.

MADISON, CT - Starting with the coming school year two patrol officers will have coverage of the Madison public school system as part of their regular beats.
At the most recent Board of Selectmen meeting, the selectmen approved a special appropriation from the police department for $85,000 to increase funding for a second officer to patrol the schools - beginning with this coming school year.
Police Chief Jack Drumm explained that starting with the next school year - 2019-2020 - the Board of Education will pick up partial cost of the two officers salaries - so the cost of the coverage will be split between the town and school budgets.
