VIBE! Grand Champions! Gold Medalists! Best Choreography! Guitarist Award!

VIBE, Daniel Hand High School's show choir, was named Grand Champion at the Central Mass Show Choir Festival Saturday.

VIBE was one of 18 choirs competing in the open division group. The singing group is currently ranked 19th in the country at at Showchoirranksystem.com.

VIBE, named a Gold Medalist at the Massachusetts festival, also was honored for Best Choreography. And drummer Nick Balow received the guitarist's award.

DHHS music teacher and Choir Director Ron Soja said he was thrilled with their hard work and dedication.

"My students sang Happy Birthday for me on Thursday. I told them that all I wanted for my birthday was for them to go out there and give it everything and walk away with no regrets," Soja said Sunday. "I'm proud of how hard they worked all year long and how hard they worked for that win."

Congratulations to all of the hardworking performers and to the parents and others supporting them! You make your hometown proud!
