MADISON, CT — Madison native Zachary Donohue and his figure-skating partner, Madison Hubbell, are the subject of a recent Washington Post feature on their relationship — both on the ice and off.

Donohue and Hubbell started as "teenage rivals," they told the Washington Post, before they became figure-skating partners in 2011, then romantic partners.

Though they ended up breaking up, the Post's story outlines how they continued to work together and eventually became Olympic medalists, winning bronze medals for their free dance and helping the United States win a silver medal in the team event.

"We knew that we wanted to keep skating and that there was no one else for either of us to skate with," Donohue told the Post. "No one that we would have even considered."
