Weather Prompts Cancellation Of Selectmen Meeting, Road Tests For DMV

Next Board of Selectmen meeting Feb. 11 at 8 a.m. All state Department of Motor Vehicle road skills tests scheduled before 10 a.m. Tuesday are cancelled. Please call to reschedule.

 

The Board of Selectmen meeting scheduled for Monday, January 28th at 7:30 p.m. has been cancelled.  The next scheduled meeting will be Monday, February 11th at 8 a.m.

The state Department of Motor Vehicles is canceling all road skills tests for Tuesday, January 29 that scheduled before 10 a.m., due to the winter storm.

The restart has been delayed until 10 a.m. Tuesday to ensure safe road conditions.

Anyone with a scheduled road test can call DMV to choose a new date. The numbers to call are 860-263-5700 if someone is within the Hartford area and toll-free 800-842-8222 for those outside the Hartford area. DMV is also attempting to contact customers with road test appointments to advise them of the schedule change.

The slippery roads also prompted the town's library to close early on Monday, and cancel all evening activites. Madison Public Schools were dismissed early, and all afternoon and evening activities were canceled. Also, several private schools dismissed early as well, including The Country School in Madison.
