What's Good At Northside?

Linda, a Madison Patch reader, wanted to know "what's good to order at the Northside restaurant." 

We were wondering too. We had the pleasure of meeting Bill Kalogeridis, the owner, when he was in the process of building out the restaurant in November 2012. It sure showed some great potential. Kalogeridis was the former owner of the Copper Kettle, a much-loved restaurant in New Haven. When the Copper Kettle closed after 25 years, it brought some of its customers to tears.

And so how is it going at the Northside Family Restaurant at 508 Old Toll Road, next to the Robert's supermarket in North Madison? And what to order? The menu on the restaurant's website is both tempting and vast.

So we decided to ask the experts, our Madison Patch readers who have eaten there. Here is what they had to say in some recent Facebook posts: 

Christine Bouchard said she likes it even better than Noodles, which was there before and very populr. "It's nice to have a restaurant up here that serves good food at a reasonable price." 

Jackie Begina said she has been several times and has "never been disappointed." Liz Houston Pellici likewise said "it is consistent, tasty and good service!"

Janet Brown Connolly recommended the chef salad, saying it was "yummy."

Peggy Schoen loves breakfast at the Northside and said their coffee is delicious. Karen Riggle Chapman said she loves the moussaka. For Barbara Plotkin it's the "delicious hot open faced sandwiches" that keeps her comingback. She's had both the roast beef and turkey sandwiches. Next times she goes, she plans to try the ribeye steak.

Kathy Dann has eaten there many times. She said, "the food is great and the owners are wonderful. I've also had them provide food for an event and they did a great job. I highly recommend it."

Scott Gyllensten said his family eats there all the time. "Great food and great service! I would highly recommend Northside." Alicia Dunbar gets lunch there a few times a week and she loves it too. "Their Philly steak special is delicious."

Linda La Bella Paré went there recently and had the salmon. "It was excellent, and great service" as well.
